The Metro Sports Commission (MSC) is possible through the efforts of the two major locally owned broadcasting companies in Central Minnesota: Tri-County Broadcasting and Leighton Broadcasting. Both companies feel it is important part of their civic responsibility as broadcasters to support high school athletics. As such, each company is dedicating employee time and hundreds of hours of airtime to carrying games, sportscasts and highlights throughout the schools year.
Directing operations for Leighton Broadcasting is “the voice of the Huskies”, Don Lyons. Don will supervise the on-air teams needed for Tech football and other schools “games of the week” throughout the year.
Directing operations for Tri-County is Mark Lewendowski. Tri-County’s will be the Cathedral games throughout the year with Emmett Keenan as the voice for the Crusaders. “Games of the week” will also air on 660 AM and 1010 AM.
Each week we'll post a photo and information about a Metro Sports Commission outstanding athlete! This athlete will receive a plaque from the Metro Sprots Commission and All Star Trophy and Awards in St. Cloud. Here's this week's Athlete of the Week:
